Incoming Inter-district LAUSD Permit Application
This permit is for families who reside outside of LAUSD boundaries and would like for their student(s) to attend an LAUSD school. While we will make every effort to accommodate requests to specific schools, we may not be able to. The incoming inter-district permit application is open all year long.
Outgoing Inter-district LAUSD Permit Application
This permit is for families who reside within the LAUSD boundaries and would like to attend a school outside of the Los Angeles Unified School District. This permit requires a prior release from the LAUSD prior to enrollment in the desired school district.
The outgoing inter-district permit application window opens on February 1st and closes on April 30th for the following school year.
- Only one application may be submitted per student per school year.
- Parents may only request one school district per school year.
- Applications are processed in the order received.
After the application window closes, only Parent/Legal Guardian Employment requests will be accepted. All other permit types may appeal to the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE).
